Nov 2009 Photography Field Trips

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you see what my classes did last week on our field trips. I took my two Principles of Photography classes to The Drag and UT to do some street photography. Then I took my Editorial Photography class to the Texas Capitol to do an editorial shoot on the Floor of the House of Representatives.

I'm hoping to do more videos like this, so let me know if you're interested in taking part. I'll probably shoot one during the hanging for the upcoming show and at the opening as well.

Photoshow

So since we last posted, the club has decided to hold a photoshow at a local coffee shop. We submitted digital images and the staff are going to decide which ones should be printed. The show will be held at Star Co. Coffee shop and will open on Dec. 2nd from 5-8pm.

We will have a meeting on Wednesday at 5pm to dicuss the final details of what is going on the opening night as well as advertisment and where we can and should post advertisments. Got any ideas?

Funraiser!!!

So at our meeting yesterday we decided that we are having a fundraiser on Nov. 3rd-5th at 11:30-1:15pm. There will be pizza, soda, and bakedgoods. We hope to put up fliers soon so start looking for them.

We are still looking for a place to have a show but we think we've found a good place.
It will be the first week of December and all student work.
If you want to submit work it needs to be done by Nov. 9th at 10pm. 10 digital images that Jen, Leigh, and Walker will edit it down to what they think should be in the show. We decided that 10% of profits will go to photoclub and the rest goes to the photographer.
Anyone can be in the show its not just photoclub students.

For the coming events in a couple of weeks we are planning a pizza fundraisers with baked goods on the side. Looking for people to donate the baked goods. Look for fliers coming up soon.

Also we are looking for a location to hold a photo show. Maybe a coffee shop or another open location. Any ideas?
